Championship Karting International Invades New Jersey Motorsports Park CKI Grand Prix of New Jersey

New Jersey Motorsports Park Aerial Shot New Jersey Motorsports Park Hot on the heels of the highly successful inaugural CKI event at New Castle Motorsports Park, Championship Karting International is pleased to announce the next event on the 2009 schedule: CKI Grand Prix of New Jersey, June 26 – 28. Featuring a cash and prize package worth over $25,000, the event will take place at New Jersey Motorsports Park, a world-class 500-acre multi-purpose Motorsports complex that opened to rave reviews last year, located in Millville, NJ. One new twist to this event—in several competition classes, the cash purse has been expanded to include all top 5 winners.

“New Castle was a big success, and we’re keeping the momentum going at New Jersey Motorsports Park’s stellar F1 New Jersey kart facility. We learned a lot at the first race and will continue working to make CKI events the very best in the karting industry,” states CKI co-founder RJ Valentine. “One of the things we heard from teams, racers and families was they wanted drivers who earn top 5 results, not just the top 3, to finish ‘in the money’. That’s why we’ve tweaked the prizes packages. Our goal is to provide the best race experience possible: the best competition, prize money, live exposure on the internet as well as the opportunity to ‘rub shoulders’ with some biggest names in Motorsports. Stay tuned for details about the upcoming events.”

The prize package includes $22,000 in cash; an innovative $3,000 education investment prize program in the KF3, IAME Junior and Cadet classes; plus a raffle to win an IAME / Parilla Leopard motor, contributed by Italian Motors and Russell Karting Specialties. In the hotly contested KF2 and KZ2 divisions, competitors will hit the track contending for a piece of a $14,000 cash purse – the winner of each division will land $3,000; 2nd place earns $2,000; third place $1,000; 4th $750 and 5th $250, in both classes. IAME Senior class competitors will shoot for a share of $6,000; the champion grabbing $2,500, 2nd place earning $1,500 and 3rd place $1,000; 4th $750 and 5th 250. In a nod to the strong karting community in and around south Jersey, CKI will offer a Rotax Master class with a purse of $1,500 cash with the victor pocketing $500; 2nd place delivers $400 and 3rd place $300; 4th 200 and 5th $100.

Supporting CKI’s mission of helping racers develop careers for the next level, the KF3, IAME Junior and Cadet competitors will compete for prizes totaling $3,000 – all prizes will be contributed the racers’ educational savings plans. In all 3 divisions the winner earns $500, 2nd $300 and 3rd place $200.

Similar to the first stellar event, the CKI Grand Prix of New Jersey will also offer a special prize – Italian Motors and Russell Karting Specialties are holding 2 “race raffles” offering a competitor from both the IAME Jr. and Sr. classes a chance to win a IAME / Parilla Leopard Motor package worth more than $2,000 each.
