CKI Grand Prix of California Local Option Rotax Class Cancelled

Championship Karting International, Karting’s premier National Series, announced today that they are canceling the Local Option Rotax Classes for the Grand Prix of California, this weekend, August 7 – 9, 2009. 

“CKI is always encouraged to offer programs above and beyond our regular National Program, to benefit karters that may not normally have an opportunity to compete.  Obviously we hate to cancel anything, however the entries simply did not support offering the Rotax classes for this event,” states series Director, Kevin Williams, “We have strong fields for our other categories and are looking forward to an exciting weekend of competition.”

With weekend-long coverage on eKartingNews, Saturday’s LIVE SpeedcastTV audio coverage and Sunday’s LIVE SpeedcastTV broadcasts, CKI’s Grand Prix of California will have plenty of racing action for the karting community.

The CKI 2009 National Series is a WKA-sanctioned 4-event season. In addition to the upcoming event, the Grand Prix of California, (August 6-8), the Series hosted events at New Castle Motorsports Park in May, and at New Jersey Motorsports Park, Millville, NJ, in June.  A Season Grand Championship is slated for Oklahoma Motorsports Park, Norman, OK; October 9-11, 2009.  Visit http://www.ChampionshipKartRacing.com for more details.
