CKI Partners with Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving at CKI Grand Championship
CKI’s season finale, the CKI Grand Championship on October 9 – 11, keeps getting better and better. The latest news is that CKI has reached a deal with the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving to award the 2009 CKI KF2 Class national champion with a complete race weekend in the Bob Bondurant Champion Race Series, a package worth over $3,500. Bondurant will also provide a Formula Mazda Pace Car at the CKI Grand Championship.
“One of our primary goals is to position CKI as a vital step in a ladder system that develops drivers for the highest levels of Motorsport. Partnerships, like this one with Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving, are perfect to help CKI fulfill that goal,” states CKI Director of Operations Kevin Williams. “It’s another bonus for our competitors at the CKI Grand Championships. I’d like to thank Bondurant GM Alan Rudolph and the whole team for supporting CKI and making this exciting prize a reality.”
The Bondurant series, which utilizes purpose built Formula Mazda race cars, is currently holding a 9-event 2009/2010 season on three tracks located at the Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix, AZ. “We’re excited about the partnership with CKI at this year’s Grand Championship. CKI is at the highest level of karting, which is exactly where we want to be involved and our new Race Series is a perfect transition from karts to cars,” states Bondurant GM Alan Rudolph. “This event is just the kick-off to a much bigger program we’re planning with CKI for the 2010 season – it promises to be a great partnership for all involved.”
