Championship Karting International Extends Deadline For The Karting’s Got Talent Program

Due to overwhelming responses in the last week to the Karting's Got Talent Program, Championship Karting International has extended the deadline to get the applications and essays in until June 10, 2010.

"Our phones have been ringing off the hook from talented drivers around the country asking how to participate, even into the Memorial weekend."  said CKI General Manager Kevin Williams.  "It's only fair that we give all of our young competitors the opportunity to complete their applications for this first-of-its kind program. Everyone at CKI is pleased with the overwhelming success of this driver support program."

"Karting's Got Talent" is a program sponsored by CKI and its partners.  The program rewards 12 drivers beginning at the club level.  Along with a customized driving suit drivers will be receiving benefits such as tires, bodywork kits, entry fees, etc.  The sponsorship package for each driver will range from $2500-$3000.  CKI is also dedicating one of the sponsorships to the indoor karting community and one of their drivers.  We feel strongly that indoor karting represents a key element of the growth in karting at the first level,” said Williams.

The winners will be announced during the July 23-25 WSK North America Event and the July 29 through Aug. 1 WSK World Series Event held at New Jersey Motorsports Park.  Each winner will be promoted throughout the year as a part of the program, and at the end of 2010; one lucky driver will receive a complete support package in the CKI National Series in 2011 based on their performance in 2010.

Some of the judges making the final determination are professional drivers Buddy Rice, Alan Rudolph, and Lyn St. James.

Championship Karting International is the highest profile National Karting Program in North America, offering a 6-Event National Schedule.  Next up for CKI are back-to-back weekends at the New Jersey Motorsports Park, starting with the Grand Prix of New Jersey, July 23-25, then co-promoting the WSK World Series, July 28 - August 1.  The Karting World is coming to America!
