Championship Karting International well represented at WSK World Series Event in Portugal

CKI Drivers Raquel Martinez and Phil DeLaO Jr. are less than a week away from departing for Portimao, Portugal for Round #1 of the WSK World Series. Martinez will be competing in the KF3 category while DeLaO will be racing in KF2.

Martinez has been enjoying some great success in the CKI WSK North America Series recording her first win at Phoenix last month. Her performance has positioned herself not only as one of the top Junior drivers in North America, and is now atop the National Championship Points chase in KF3 Competition. Her steady improvement shows her competitive spirit and natural ability, preparing her for her next step on the global Karting
stage.

“Starting to travel across the country this year has been fun and challenging, and now to go to Europe makes it a dream come true and to be an international competitor" stated an excited Martinez, " I will debut my new Bell KC3 helmet, painted by Troy Lee Designs this race weekend as well, so you might not recognize me. I am very happy that people around me are so supportive, and it makes me want to do this more than anything else!"

No stranger to International Competition, Phil DeLaO is coming off his best finish taking the KF2 win in a strong run at Phoenix, holding off the hard charging Joey Wimsett. In his rookie season in the KF2 category DeLaO has fought off some bad luck and showed steady improvement culminating with his win in Phoenix.

“I am very much looking forward to racing Round 1 of the WSK World Series in Portugal.” Stated a focused DeLaO, “I am looking to apply all my experience, while absorbing the atmosphere of a World Class Event. Additionally, I am excited to work with the factory Comer Top Kart team, and look for great success.”

Both drivers plan on racing the entire World Series which includes a stop in the USA at New Jersey Motorsports Park July 29-Aug. 1. The series reaches its finale in Sharm el Sheik, Egypt October 28-31.
