WSK Week Day 1 and 2

Hello everyone! or should I say Ciao! So far Boswell and I have been in Italy for two days and have already gone through one tank of gas. After arriving in Milan we decided to drive down to Maranello to see the Ferrari factory before we headed over to Comer. Talk about a town that bleeds red! As we exited our car to check out the galleria de ferrari we heard a noise that sounded like a Formula One car. At first we thought it was just coming out of some speakers surrounding the building, but we soon realized it was from the Fiorano test track which was just 1 km down the street. Rushing to see what was on track we joined a few locals taking a little break from work (beer in hand) to check out the action. Fisi was driving their three seater F1 car giving a few people a ride. From what I have been told a few laps in one of these is a few thousand dollars.

After walking around Maranello for a few hours we jumped back into our hot rod FIAT and headed to Reggio Emilia to meet up with Mario from Comer - Top Kart. Comer is made up of two buildings, one for the administration, parts, chassis, and assembly, the second for the race team.

Day two started off in a rush when I fell back to sleep after turning my alarm off. First stop, Lucky Design where Wes dropped of a new helmet to be painted by Luca. We then headed up to Decenzano to meet up with our good friend Mattia where we given a tour of CRG, Maxter, and Maranello. We first started off in the current CRG building which is much like Comer and many other factories, but we were in for a treat as Mattia took us across the street to tour the new CRG (yet to be completed), Maxter, and Maranello buildings. WOW is all I have to say. I have never seen anything like this for Karting. The buildings are massive and have the best of everything. Tomorrow we will be heading to the track in the morning to help setup with the team and get fitted with the kart. Check back everyday for updates and photos!
